Resource and Handbook Updates in Q3
Hi everyone! In the past weeks, @mysweetcate and I have been working to update the Community Supporter and Manager Handbook. In addition to making sure that the new naming is consistent on all pages (event supporters, program supporters, program managers have replaced mentors, deputies, and super deputies), we’ve updated some process pages. Below you can find the main updates: Apply to Be a Community Team Event or Program Supporter (unified application) New Supporter Orientation Script (to use as talking points while hosting an orientation for a new supporter) Application Review (formerly Vetting). This page has been integrated with a quick step-by-step guide for the most common cases, for both Meetup and WordCamp applications, including HelpScout templates and tracker statuses. HelpScout Triage for specific ticket types. Updated instructions and video tutorial for WC budget reviews and swag notifications. We’ve additionally created new pages with new processes to test, so please provide feedback: Group Orientations. As much as possible, we’d love to automate our process for group orientations, so that each supporter can host fewer meetings and more organizers at the same time, and we can connect new organizers to each other.
